How it works
A stylist’s logic, in four simple steps.
Matchbook separates who you are from what you want today, then recommends products you can actually understand — and lets you steer the results.
You create a style profile
A short, plain-language questionnaire captures the stable things about you: the wardrobe(s) you wear, your sizes, the fit frustrations you run into, how you want your style to feel, what you’d rather avoid, and your usual budget. You’re never asked to name a body type or color season — the app translates your everyday answers into styling logic behind the scenes.
You start a shopping session
When you’re ready to shop, you tell us what you want right now — the occasion, the categories you’re after, which wardrobe to browse, and a budget for the day. This is separate from your saved profile, so a one-off search never overwrites your long-term preferences.
We recommend products with explanations
Matchbook scores each item against your profile and session, then ranks the best matches. Every recommendation explains itself in plain language: why it works for you, fit notes, its style vibe, and when it’s worth trying.
You say “Not for Me” to improve results
Not every pick will land — and that’s useful. Tapping “Not for Me” tells Matchbook what to show you less of, and future recommendations adjust accordingly. The more you use it, the sharper it gets.
What makes a recommendation
Under the hood, your plain answers become concrete styling attributes. A few examples:
“I feel boxy in clothes.”
Pieces that define the waist and add shape.
“I overheat easily.”
Breathable fabrics and relaxed, unrestrictive cuts.
“Shirts are tight across my shoulders.”
Cuts with room across the shoulders and a true-to-fit build.
Examples are illustrative. Product data shown across the site is placeholder content, not live retailer listings.
