How it works
A stylist’s logic, made simple.
We do the matching — you only have to strike the match. Start with a quick quiz or a Style Scan, and Matchbook recommends pieces you can actually understand, then lets you steer the results.
Two ways to start
Build your style profile whichever way you like — you can do one, or both. Either way, you’re never asked to name a body type or color season; Matchbook translates what you give it into styling logic behind the scenes.
Answer a few plain questions
About two minutes, no account needed. You pick from everyday options — the wardrobe(s) you wear, your sizes, fit frustrations, how you want your style to feel, what you’d rather avoid — and add a note in your own words if something isn’t on the list.
Let your photos do the talking
Upload a few photos and Style Scan reads your coloring and proportions to build a far richer set of private style tags than questions alone can — your best colors, and the silhouettes that flatter your specific shape. It’s the sharpest way to start, and it only ever reads style, not size.
Then Matchbook goes to work
Start a shopping session
When you’re ready to shop, you tell us what you want right now — the occasion, the categories you’re after, which wardrobe to browse, and a budget for the day. This is separate from your saved profile, so a one-off search never overwrites your long-term preferences.
Get recommendations with explanations
Matchbook scores each item against your profile and session, then ranks the best matches. Every recommendation explains itself in plain language: why it works for you, fit notes, its style vibe, and when it’s worth trying.
Say “Not for Me” to improve results
Not every pick will land — and that’s useful. Tapping “Not for Me” tells Matchbook what to show you less of, and future recommendations adjust accordingly. The more you use it, the sharper it gets.
Come back for your Daily Matches
Create an account and a small, fresh set of pieces is picked for you from your tags each day — enough to browse, never a firehose. It’s computed with simple, explainable logic, so it’s instant and refreshes every day.
What makes a recommendation
You choose from plain-language options like the ones below — no fashion jargon — and Matchbook turns them into concrete styling attributes. Your Style Scan tags and any note you write in your own words feed in the same way. A few examples:
“I feel boxy in clothes.”
Pieces that define the waist and add shape.
“I overheat easily.”
Breathable fabrics and relaxed, unrestrictive cuts.
“Shirts are tight across my shoulders.”
Cuts with room across the shoulders and a true-to-fit build.
Examples are illustrative. Product data shown across the site is placeholder content, not live retailer listings.
